Individual Therapy for:

More About You…

You’re running on empty and feeling drained.

You put others first to a fault. It’s hard to say no. You feel guilty all the time. You feel like you have to be perfect and please everyone.

You come second no matter what. You don’t want to be a pushover and you want to put yourself first but you feel selfish if you do that. You don’t say when things bother you, until they really bother you, and you hold things inside.

therapy for anxious attachment san antonio

Growing up was difficult.

Life wasn’t always as calm and nurturing as you needed. You were often told you were too sensitive or too something. This type of pressure made you feel like you didn’t belong. It’s not that you don’t like being a unique person or that you’re trying to fit in, but that you just long to feel like you belong.

You’ve been through a lot to the point where you’ve sometimes felt othered.

Somehow, through it all, you’ve been able to push through. Until now. You’re wondering why it’s so tough right now.

You don’t like conflict and know that boundaries are important but you’re having trouble keeping them because you don’t want to be confrontational.

Your energy is wiped, you’re feeling like you’re just not good enough no matter what you do. You don’t want to care what others think, but you don’t feel like you’re good enough for others either.

You’ve Hidden Things Well

No one can tell because outside looking in, you hold it all together. But it’s getting harder and harder to do. Something has changed making it harder for you to keep things at bay.

You feel like you’ve lost the happy moments and vibrance, and your confidence is at an all time low. Your mind is working overtime, leaving you exhausted. You’re not sleeping and you feel like a burden. The guilt is eating you up inside and you don’t even always know or understand where that’s coming from.

You just wish you could turn it all off and unplug from what’s happening.

I’m here to help.

Being a deep thinker and feeler and highly sensitive woman is an unspoken language all on its own, and I know what you’re going through as an HSP. What you’re going through isn’t easy and can make you feel like you’re in a race where you just can’t compete. It can make you feel isolated and alone.

But you can feel better. You’re not alone. You can get back on track.

More About the Clients I Work with

My clients come to therapy at various stages of their lives. You’re noticing how trauma and difficult life experiences have impacted you now because you’re a mother. You’re also noticing how trauma has impacted you because of your profession.

You’ve noticed your relationships are suffering and know the reason is in part, due to your attachment style and past experiences and trauma.

What I’ve noticed in all clients who come to me for therapy is that they just want to feel better, just like you. You want to know there is hope. You want to know that change in your life is possible.

There is hope and change is possible no matter where you’re at.

Clients who come to me are willing to do the work, even if it means having to get to the root of it all. Just like you, they know it will take work and are willing to do it even though it’s hard.

I welcome all women to my practice and therapy, and am inclusive and culturally sensitive. If you don’t feel you share these values, we are probably not the best fit for each other and that’s okay!

anxious attachment help near me
  • I offer online virtual therapy and counseling services to women who are deep thinkers and feelers across Texas, Oregon, and Arizona.

  • I specialize in helping Highly Sensitive (HSP) mothers and professionals who are deeply empathetic and dealing with resurfaced trauma, PTSD, attachment issues, and people pleasing tendencies. They notice these issues are impacting them in their roles as a professional, as a mother, and also in their relationships.

  • Women who come to therapy with me are willing to do the work, even though it’s hard.

They know that issues are deeper rooted and trail back, impacting them in the present. They’re willing to explore that and also work in between our sessions to get the most out of their therapy.

What will therapy be like?

Therapy is personal and as a therapist for HSP, empathetic mothers and professional women, I want you to feel like therapy is time and space just for you.

Therapy is a place for you to gain a sense of control over the anxiety and overwhelm. It's a place where you can get back a sense of calm in your life.

In the past, clients have said they feel heard and understood which has helped them begin their transformation of healing.

They've also shared they find my approach to be warm and steady and benefit from the results they experience in therapy.

I am honest, yet gentle in my approach. You'll always have a say in therapy but I also know when clients just need me to step in. I strongly support my clients in their work, and make no room for judgment in sessions.

I know how much you’ve been judging yourself enough already.

Past clients who've had success with me in therapy are those who know there isn't one specific therapy, coping skill, or medication that will be a cure.

How Long Will Therapy Take?

It's natural to want relief now. Why wouldn't you? We can all search the internet for coping skills but therapy with me isn't just about coping skills.  Coping skills have their place and time but my approach to therapy is at a deeper level. I'd rather you get to the heart of things now, so this won't constantly return.

Therapy won’t take any longer than it needs to and will only last as long as you need, to complete your therapy goals.

What to Expect From Therapy Sessions

Women who reach out to me are unique people, even if they share commonalities. But clients all share these very similar goals:

  • To feel better about themselves

  • Learn more about themselves

  • Gain strength, resolve, and insight

  • Learn and develop skills to use in the here-and-now

  • Be better internally resourced

  • Have healthier relationships

  • Be free from unhealthy patterns

  • Have a more meaningful life

The most effective therapy and counseling begins with the right therapeutic fit. When you feel comfortable in therapy and at ease, that’s when you’ll feel you can open up about your feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Fit is first and you setting your own therapy goals to help you:

  • Recognize patterns and how they impact you

  • Restore new meaning in your life

  • Make connections to patterns and experiences

  • Share and explore your emotions and thoughts

  • Process trauma

  • Learn how to get through difficult life transitions and change

  • Strengthen relationships

  • Repair attachment wounds

  • Navigate life as a Highly Sensitive Person

  • Challenge yourself to take action to create change you want in your life

Therapy is helpful for many different struggles and to better cope with issues including anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, old attachment wounds, sexual trauma, childhood trauma, people pleasing, grief and loss, PTSD & trauma, complex trauma, the effects of autoimmune disorders, and relationship issues.

Sessions will be tailored to you specifically.

Therapy consists of 50-minute sessions where I will listen, be curious in asking questions, help you reframe experiences, and make observations. I’ll also help you with strengthening problem-solving skills, provide you with insight and feedback, information, and psychoeducation on relevant topics pertinent to you, and provide you with tools and resources.

To get the most out of therapy and counseling, you may sometimes be asked to reflect on sessions and bring anything connected that came up in between sessions, to your next session. You may be asked to reflect and note any patterns you notice in between sessions and thoughts and feelings that arise. I may also recommend you practice certain skills or exercises that could help, or journal what you notice in between our sessions.

My Therapeutic Style & Approach

I’m a spirited, inquisitive, open-minded, warm-hearted therapist who’s also a fellow HSP.

I help women struggling with overwhelming worry, anxiety, sadness and depression, attachment pain, feelings of guilt and shame, grief, unhealthy patterns, difficulty in their relationships, not feeling good enough, people pleasing, and burden from past trauma.

What makes me different, is I’ve been told I can make almost anyone feel at ease and my sense of humor helps, despite the nature of what brings women to therapy. Previous clients have also shared that it’s easy for them to let their guard down with me.

Please know there is nothing you can bring to therapy that will shock me.

I want you to be able to be your authentic self, comfortable, not feel judged in any way, and feel seen, understood, and heard, because I know how vulnerable it can be to be to bring yourself to therapy.

I also want you to know that therapy is about what you hope to accomplish in terms of your goals, not anyone else’s, including that of the therapist.

Therapy will be personal to you because no two people are alike. We will work together in a creative way, and develop a plan based on your therapy goals, that is tailored specifically to you, your growth, and healing.

Spending time with my people, hiking with my sweet dogs, hanging with my rescue cats, going to Barre, yoga, and Pilates classes, and taking art classes!

Daily rituals:

It’s important to me to try to find time to recharge in the quiet. I try to find time to journal, drink some good tea, practice mindfulness and meditation, and take space to find out what I’m grateful for because life is noisy for HSPs, and the world is ever-changing.
