what to expect

Let’s talk next steps!

I try to make it as as easy as possible to start therapy with me but if you still have questions after browsing through the website, you can ask any other questions during the consult call.

Book a complimentary consultation.

The first step is scheduling a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation. This will give us time to talk a little bit about what brings you to therapy and see if we’re a good fit.

After you reach out for the consult, I’ll send you an email link to a brief questionnaire that will need to be completed prior to our consult call.

Next step in the process.

If we decide to move forward together after the consultation, I’ll send you the intake documents and questionnaires to your secure client portal, through SimplePractice which is the EHR system I use.

Everything can be completed electronically from the comfort of your home or office.

During and after the first few sessions.

Your intake documents and questionnaires will be reviewed during your initial session. You’ll have a personalized treatment plan with a focus on your therapy goals.

We’ll be deciding how we work and feel together during our first few sessions.

Throughout therapy, I’ll periodically send you questionnaires measuring symptoms, and we’ll often review how therapy is coming along for you in the process.

We’ll meet weekly, until you feel like you’re near completion of your therapy goals. Once you’re at that point, we’ll discuss a different cadence of sessions which is typically biweekly sessions for 1-2 months, and then discharge/termination from therapy.

I know you’re looking for relief-you want to feel better, to breathe easier, and to finally feel like yourself again.

Healing takes time, but therapy won’t last longer than it needs to.

It’s important that we’re the right fit for your journey. Sometimes we don’t know that until after those first few sessions, sometimes we know it on the consultation call.

Therapy is a vulnerable space, and you deserve to feel safe, supported, and comfortable. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, working in alignment with your nervous system so that the process feels healing, not overwhelming.

This is your space-a place where you set your own goals and where you’re free to grow and evolve. Your goals won’t be rigid, because life keeps moving, and so will we. As things shift, we’ll adjust together, making space for whatever you need in the moment.

  • Clients who start therapy with me start therapy on a weekly basis, then taper to biweekly sessions for about 1-2 months once they near completion of their therapy goals. Afterwards, they discharge from therapy.

  • You might be asking about this because you want relief from what you’re going through which is natural.

The time it takes in therapy to feel better varies. The total duration of therapy varies from client to client. It can’t be predicted when clients will begin to experience relief because there are different variables involved in each individual’s experience(s).

Therapy will be in alignment with the goals you set for therapy. You won’t stay in therapy longer than you need to, and only as long as necessary for you to complete your goals.
